ST is the first in the industry to introduce the Serial Page EEPROM. This new class of EEPROMs is an SPI serial interface high-capacity page erasable memory with unprecedented erasure flexibility, read/write performance and ultra-low power consumption. ST's new serial page EEPROM product family starts with the 32Mbit M95P32, with 16Mbit and 8Mbit products to be added later in due course. 


This innovative architecture allows designers to manage firmware and store data flexibly on the same memory, a combination that was not previously available. Higher memory integration reduces end-product bill-of-material (BoM) costs, shortens time-to-market, increases application value, and enables ultra-low-power modules with smaller dimensions for longer battery life. These devices are ideally suited to implement all-in-one non-volatile memories for new system designs such as industrial IoT modules, wearables, healthcare, electronic price tags, smart meters and 5G fiber optic modules. 


A new development, the Serial Page EEPROM integrates ST's patented e-STM 40nm non-volatile memory (NVM) cell technology with a new intelligent memory page architecture that combines high memory capacity, byte erasure flexibility and high erasure resistance to facilitate firmware management and simplify data logging. The new product also features short read, erase and write times, and fast upload and download speeds to reduce manufacturing costs and application downtime. Fast power-up and four-output read operations further speed application wake-up. 


Integration of this new simplified memory optimizes the cost of ownership for the enterprise, improves product ease of use, simplifies software development, and increases product reliability. The Serial Page EEPROM is a lower cost non-volatile memory solution than FRAM, with lower power consumption than serial Flash, and better functionality and ease of use than Dataflash products.
