Global megatrends such as digitalization and decarbonization are driving the demand for silicon/gallium nitride (SiC/GaN) devices using wide band gap (WBG) devices. These devices have unique technical characteristics that can help power products optimize performance and energy efficiency. Infineon Technologies (FSE: IFX / OTCQX: IFNNY) and Delta Electronics (TWSE: 2308), two global electronics majors with a long-standing commitment to innovative semiconductors and power electronics, today announced that they are deepening their collaboration to enhance the use of wide-bandgap SiC and GaN devices in high-end power supply products to provide outstanding solutions for end customers. The company's products are available in a wide range of sizes and sizes.

Infineon and Delta continue to deepen their product integration and application cooperation, with Infineon's wide-bandgap power devices used in Delta's latest 1.4 kW server power supply and 1.6 kW 80 Plus Titanium-class gaming power supply. With decades of core competency in power electronics, Delta combined with Infineon's high performance asymmetric trench CoolSiC technology to deliver a 1.4 kW server power supply that achieves over 96% efficiency. Another 1.6 kW Titanium-class gaming power supply features Infineon's CoolGaN™ rId13 and EiceDRIVER™ rId14 ICs, which achieve 96% efficiency at multi-voltage output, well above the industrial Titanium-class standard (94%), mainly due to the use of Infineon's CoolGaN™ GIT (Gate Current Injection Transistor) 600 V e mode HEMT technology with a staggered totem pole PFC topology, resulting in a significant increase in overall efficiency.

These two indicative design examples successfully demonstrate the excellent results created by combining the strengths of both companies. Infineon's industry-leading portfolio of performance-driven, high-reliability wide-bandgap devices and Delta's innovative capabilities in power electronics systems combine to achieve a new level of efficiency in power supplies that meet or exceed today's 80 Plus standard. By deepening their cooperation, the two companies hope that Infineon's high quality and cost effective widebandgap technology and highly stable supply capabilities will help Delta provide end customers with more energy efficient solutions and take the lead in the wave of widebandgap technology for low carbon applications.
Delta invests more than 8% of its annual revenue in R&D innovation to provide efficient and reliable power solutions to meet the energy-saving needs of customers in servers, gaming computers, and other diversified industries," said Hsuan-Bo Yin, vice president and general manager of Delta's Power Supply and Systems Business Group. Achieving goals and success in a competitive market requires partnering with trusted, leading device suppliers that have a thorough understanding of the power system space and provide customized solutions for specific applications. Infineon is a world-class semiconductor and system solution provider and a long-time Delta partner whose diverse and efficient WBG products help us to create industry-leading power products."
Johannes Schoiswohl, Head of High Efficiency Power Supply, Isolation and Connectivity Business Line, Infineon Power & Sensing Systems Division, said: "Infineon's commitment to production scale and technical excellence in wide bandgap products, combined with a focus on quality and reliability at every stage of the value chain, are key factors in the success of our wide bandgap semiconductor business and the acceptance of our This, combined with a focus on quality and reliability at every stage of the value chain, is a key factor in the success of our wide-bandgap semiconductor business and the acceptance of our customers. Our devices employ rigorous quality and reliability testing procedures that exceed the specifications of the JEDEC standard, thus allowing us to predict the long-term characteristics of our wide-bandgap devices and ensure reliable performance throughout the product lifecycle. We are excited to continue to expand our collaborative projects with our long-time partner Delta, based on a partnership and trust that spans more than 20 years, leveraging their expertise in technology and systems to bring innovative power solutions to the server and gaming markets that meet future needs."
