With the introduction of the U.S. $ 52 billion chip subsidy bill, more and more semiconductor companies began to increase their U.S. investment, Samsung has planned to invest $ 200 billion in the United States, about 1.4 trillion yuan, to build 11 new chip plants in the U.S. Such investment means that Samsung Semiconductor has been thoroughly oriented to the United States.

According to South Korean media reports, Samsung's chip investment plan in the United States is extremely large, is expected to build 11 chip plants in the United States within 20 years in Texas, of which 2 plants may be distributed in Austin, the capital of Texas, and the remaining nine may be in Tyler, Texas.

The two factories located in Austin plan to invest about $ 25 billion, nine chip factories located in Tyler plan to invest $ 170 billion, a total of about $ 200 billion.

Samsung has announced last year to invest $ 17 billion in the city of Tyler to build a chip factory, the plant has already started construction, is expected to start operations in 2024.

It is worth mentioning that this factory, regardless of the scale of investment or the start of construction and production time, is basically a benchmark for TSMC's 5nm process chip factory in the United States, is expected to Samsung factory is also based on the 5nm process.

According to Samsung plan, these 11 factories are expected to create 10,000 jobs for the United States, of which Austin will get a potential of about 1,800 jobs, and Tyler gets a potential of another 8,200 jobs.

If Samsung determines the investment, most of these 11 factories will be in operation in 2034, although 2 factories will need to be in operation by 2042.

However, Samsung investment announced so far is still planned and not fully committed to definitely build the plant, and the reason they announced the investment plan in advance is mainly because they hope to get financial subsidies from the local government, of which Texas originally provided up to 10 years of tax breaks for large companies, although the incentive program will end at the end of this year.
