According to CNBC, IDC Asia Pacific research director Vinay Gupta pointed out: the global chip shortage problem is not over, the Russian-Ukrainian war continues to constrain the supply chain, in the context of economic slowdown, the chip shortage problem will be more serious.

Gupta said that the war between Russia and Ukraine poses a great challenge to the supply chain, chip supply will not immediately increase, because the production of these chips require a large amount of raw materials and gas.

Nearly half of the world's neon gas is supplied by two Ukrainian companies, Ingas and Cryoin, but the global supply of neon has essentially been cut in half as the Russian-Ukrainian war continues.

Gupta believes that supply chain disruptions and rising costs will lead to higher average selling prices for equipment, which infrastructure providers then pass on to customers and consumers.

"High inflation and expectations of tighter monetary policy from the Federal Reserve have caused a consumer-led economic slowdown, particularly in spending on consumer electronics, which is showing signs of recession, coupled with rising interest rates from global central banks, further slowing such spending." Gupta said.
