STMicroelectronics presents STM32 15th Anniversary Online is Technology Week

FREE-SKY (HK) ELECTRONICS CO.,LIMITED / 08-06 15:54

STMicroelectronics, one of the world's leading semiconductor companies in the field of electronics, recently announced that it will host the STM32 Online Technology Week 2022 from July 18 - 22, marking the 15th anniversary of STM32 embedded technology.

STMicroelectronics is now the world's number one general-purpose MCU manufacturer. Today, the STM32 family consists of more than 1,200 MCU and MPU products, divided into six product lines.

The event will focus on five application scenarios: Artificial Intelligence and Smart Mobility, Information Security and Functional Safety, Smart IoT, Industry and Energy, Information Security and Functional Safety, Ecology and Innovation.

Artificial Intelligence and Smart Travel

In the IoT era, edge AI demonstrates great advantages in protecting user privacy and data security, real-time processing and reducing application costs. ST has a wide range of embedded AI solutions and will showcase a variety of AI and smart mobility applications to meet a wide range of needs from smart home to smart mobility and smart driving.

For example, ST will also bring a demonstration of 3D gesture recognition with a built-in TouchGFX graphic interface. The demo solution is based on an artificial intelligence neural network model that allows you to control the hood fan with just a few different gestures and without any touch, easily freeing your greasy hands when cooking through the STM32 and ToF VL53L5 sensors.

Other artificial intelligence and smart mobility video demonstrations shown by ST include: water level detector based on barometer principle, AI thermal imaging system, ST MCU OpenFOTA solution, dump truck tilt detector, full-featured OLED taillight driving solution based on L99LDLH32, digital car key solution based on CCC 2.0, NFC wireless charging, etc.

Smart IoT

"Everything can be connected" has been transformed from a fantasy to a reality. In the industry ecosystem, ST has been working closely with its ecosystem partners to accelerate the application of Smart IoT.

Other smart IoT demos showcased by ST include: ST global shutter sensor VD56G3 optical flow function with STM32H7 and AI executive detection demo, STM3WL LoRa internet access to the cloud, unique innovative ultra-low power, ultra-high data throughput ST60 contactless connectivity demo, smart gesture recognition solution, and STM32MP1 DEMO 3D printing solution and more.

Industry and Energy

Today, the wave of digitization of equipment systems driven by Industry 4.0 and the energy management and efficiency improvement initiatives driven by national energy saving and emission reduction targets are driving deep changes in the industrial and energy sectors. Embedded processing solutions such as STM32 are playing an important role in driving these changes.

For example, STMicroelectronics will exhibit an STM32G491RC-based digital PFC and dual motor controller for air conditioning outdoor unit air compressor and fan control. Another exhibit is a sensorless single motor vector control reference design based on the STM32G030K8, the STGIPQ5C60T-HZ inverter and the VIPER318HDTR converter design.

ST has an extensive product portfolio for industrial and energy use. In this Online Technology Week, we will bring video solution demonstrations of STKNX-based smart home control system, intelligent power system operation and maintenance, solar inverter solutions, robotic arm joints developed using STM32G4 products, and unmanned delivery vehicle master control unit developed using MP1.

Information Security and Functional Safety

In today's booming and blossoming IoT, what is there that needs extra attention from developers? There are millions of IoT, but security comes first.

In terms of security, ST will showcase various development tool kits and security products developed by customers on STM32 MCUs and MPUs to protect users' properties with our robust hardware and software.

For example, the STM32U5 Trusted Firmware -M (TF-M) demo board demonstrates a TF-M-based security solution covering secure boot, secure firmware updates and a full set of security services during runtime, running in an isolated trusted execution environment. In addition, the CM33 core with TrustZone and other on-chip security-related hardware IP on the STM32U5 provide complete system-level support for the secure implementation of the TF-M solution.

Ecology and Innovation

What STM32 has achieved today is due to our strong ecosystem and persistent technology innovation. We will bring some of our featured exhibits to this year's Technology Week. Visitors will see the "Tutti frutti" assorted fruit ice cream running on the STM32H7 dual-core MCU. The solution will be demonstrated by the demonstrator drawing any kind of fruit (e.g., banana, apple, etc.) on a blackboard, while the AI will display the recognized fruit pattern, as well as the dual-core workload and pfs (graphic display frame rate). graphic display frame rate) and display it on the counter in real time. Demonstrators can compare the single/dual core graphic display frame rate and the workload of the cores by disabling one of the cores and running the entire application on a single core only.

Other ST's eco and innovation demos include STM32MP1 LoRa gateway, STM32MPU home gateway, STM32U5-based dial solution, STM32H7-based GUI solution, surging heart OS wearable solution based on partner RT-Thread, etc.
